Dale Amburgey, an institutional researcher and passionate data enthusiast, specializes in business intelligence, dashboard design, and crafting effective data governance frameworks. With over 25 years of expertise in higher education, Dale has dedicated himself to institutional research, enrollment management, and operational excellence. Since 2004, he has been a driving force in advising organizations on optimal data utilization and management.
A true data raconteur, humorist, and aspiring improviser, Dale delights in sharing insights on how individuals and groups can harness the power of data to achieve their desired outcomes. In 2021, he achieved a childhood dream by becoming a game show host, hosting live trivia events in central Florida. His ultimate goal? To wield the iconic Gene Rayburn “long microphone.”
Dale’s educational journey includes earning a BA in Business Administration from Transylvania University, an MBA in Management from the University of Louisville, a MS in Business Intelligence from Saint Joseph’s University, and an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from the University of Central Florida. Actively engaged in professional communities, he is a member of the Association for Institutional Research (AIR), DAMA International, the Data Governance Professionals Organization (DGPO), and the Higher Education Data Warehousing Forum (HEDW). Dale’s commitment is further evidenced by his service on the executive board of HEDW from 2018 to 2021, where he proudly served as the Chair of the 2021 HEDW Virtual Conference.
